Gorillas are the largest member of the Ape family. Throughout Africa, they live in extended families called a Troop led by a Silverback Male. Matured males are referred to as Silverbacks because the hair on their back develops a silver-grey characteristic at about 12 years of age; after sexual maturity at age 7. Originally from the Caribbean region, Winston was born in Nassau, the historic capital of the 700 Islands of The Bahamas archipelago. He is a former print media and broadcast journalist and a Bahamas-based correspondent for United Press International (UPI).
